I think it is important for a photographer to be transparent so clients feel comfortable with who theyre working with – The better we can work together, the better the photos will be.
I work full time, Monday to Friday 9-5 in a job that has nothing to do with photography. My photography is my creative fix – a hobby that developed firstly into helping friends then on to helping friends of friends, and now clients.
My favourite photography at the moment uses my portable studio. Its great to be able to take the equipment to a clients house and produce professional photos. Its especially good when photographing kids, as they have a familiar surrounding and all their toys and outfits to hand. Its an hour of fun and smiles, and the photographs really reflect it. No false grins!
In most of my photography I try and catch true smiles. Not a massive fan of posed pictures I like to capture those looks and glimpses that mean more – when looking back at the photo you can see the exact feeling of that moment.
